M4A3E8 Thunderbolt VII Offers

Available from February 7 at 06:00 CET through February 14 at 06:00 CET (UTC+1)

A favorite of U.S. Lieutenant Colonel Creighton Abrams during World War II, the VIM4A3E8 Thunderbolt VII is an M4A3E8 Sherman with enhanced frontal and turret armor. Armed with a 76 mm cannon, the Thunderbolt uses a powerful combination of 1,916 HP/min DPM, good gun handling, a quick reload time, and 10 degrees of gun depression. The vehicle also comes with permanent inscriptions and emblems, and all bundles include a much-desired 100% trained crew with Brothers in Arms as a zero perk and some gold.

M4A1 Revalorisé Offers

Available from February 7 at 06:00 CET through February 14 at 06:00 CET (UTC+1)

Sherman tanks weren’t limited to the U.S. Armed Forces. The VIIIM4A1 Revalorisé (nicknamed “Ravioli”) retains the American vehicle’s chassis but packs a 105 mm cannon with an eye-catching muzzle brake and can cause 390 HP of damage with one round. Add outstanding gun handling, fast APCR shells as standard ammunition, a robust 1,400 HP pool, and a 390 m view range, and you have a medium that excels as a lethal sniper. You can also grab the M4A1 Revalorisé’s exclusive Chasseur de Croissant 2D style, available in vehicle bundles or solo.

M4A1 FL 10 Offers

Available from February 7 at 06:00 CET through February 14 at 06:00 CET (UTC+1)

Here’s another non-American adaptation of the M4. The VIM4A1 FL 10 combines the classic American Sherman hull with the French autoloading AMX-13-series turret in one unique and effective package. It benefits from good mobility, featuring a 48 km/h top speed and 43 degree/s traverse speed. The four-round autoloader cannon can unleash an average 540 HP of damage per clip in just 5.25 seconds. It also has a short aiming time of 2 seconds, with 148/186/38 mm of penetration. Throw in good accuracy and a 370 m view range, and it can provide fire at mid-to-long range while keeping its weaker armor safe.

M4 Improved Offers

Available from February 7 at 06:00 CET through February 14 at 06:00 CET (UTC+1)

The American M4 Sherman is one of the most iconic tanks in history, but the VM4 Improved is slightly different. Its angled hull and turret armor help deflect incoming rounds, and it’s ready to strike back with a powerful 75 mm cannon and fast rate of fire. Thanks to a more powerful engine than the standard M4, the Improved is a very fast and maneuverable tank, perfect for flanking adversaries. There is truth in advertising!

Who was General Sherman?

William Tecumseh Sherman served as a general in the Union Army during the American Civil War. Opinion is split on Sherman among historians. To some, he was a mentally unstable, heavy-drinking barbarian who waged war on enemy troops and civilians alike. Others paint him as a professional soldier who spared civilians and sought to end the bloody Civil War by any—and all—means necessary, ensuring future generations would never wish to wage it.

A graduate of the famed West Point Military Academy, Sherman gained notoriety for his “hard war” approach. As his armies conquered land, they would burn buildings and plantations, destroy railroads and forests, seize food and livestock—in short, remove anything the enemy could use to wage or support war. These tactics took a psychological toll on civilians and eroded their support for the conflict.

Sherman’s tactics were put to full use during his famous November–December 1864 “March to the Sea.” After torching almost half of the city of Atlanta, Georgia, he led an army 285 miles east to the coastal city of Savannah, destroying and raiding along the way. The destination city, however, remained untouched and was presented to President Abraham Lincoln as a Christmas gift. Scorched-earth tactics were used in the subsequent march north to Charleston, South Carolina, in early 1865. In April, Confederate forces surrendered, and the bloodiest war in American history ended.

British World War I veteran and noted historian B. H. Liddell Hart claimed that Sherman was a master of the “indirect approach” to warfare. It works when an army is mobile, fluid, and can strike and exploit enemy weaknesses whenever they appear. Hart penned several books on warfare strategy and believed World War II commanders studied and were influenced by his analyses of Sherman’s tactics. American General George S. Patton as well as German Generals Heinz Guderian and Erwin Rommel were mentioned for using the Civil War general’s tactics—albeit with mechanized armor.

Ironically, the M4 Sherman tank line replaced the M3 Lee, named after Civil War Confederate General Robert E. Lee.
