World of Warships Supertest: Pan-Asian Tier X Premium Destroyer Lüshun

Historical background

Lüshun doesn’t really have a historical background to speak of. Essentially, she is a what-if Neustrashimy (Project 41) that would have either been transferred to China or built over there.

There are some very small variations to the anti-air and the radar systems but beyond that, it really is a carbon copy of Neustrashimy.

For the classic reminder, this is a ship in testing, anything can change so don’t look at her like she would already be released.

Personal Opinion

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh….

I’m not quite sure how that ship can work at tier X. It is quite literally a copy-paste of Neustrashimy on most of the stats except for the concealment that gets worse, the depth charges that… also get worse, and the consumable set also gets changed. Technically, the anti-air gets better but that’s forgetting the fact that Lüshun loses the Defensive AA fire consumable.

Neustrashimy has the Specialized Repair Team that makes her incredibly survivable as well as an Engine boost (and a Defensive AA fire). Lüshun gets a slightly improved Hydroacoustic Search with a 5.5 km ship detection range as well as a torpedo reload booster. Overall… not exactly sure how that would make her tier X material. It is especially true when you consider that her firepower is far from impressive, she can’t properly combine the Hydroacoustic Search with the Soviet smoke and there are 4 destroyers at tier X with 5.0 km or 6.0 km Hydroacoustic Search that could kick her ass into Oblivion.
As for the torpedo reload booster… I mean… it is always nice but again, it’s nothing that would make her tier X material in my books.
