World of Tanks is about to release its biggest update of 2022, 1.18. It will add all-new Italian AT-ACS equipped with a non-standard magazine loading system, as well as a new map called “Zastava” for casual battles. We also rebalanced some vehicles and finalized a large list of maps for casual battles. But that’s not all! We’ve made important changes to the balancer for light tanks and SAUs, improved rendering of knocked down track tapes and fine-tuned some important points.
- The day after tomorrow, Wednesday, August 31, from 03:30 to 10:30 (MSK) the World of Tanks game servers will not be available due to the release of version 1.18.
- Players with premium account will be charged 1 day of the tank premium account as compensation for the time the servers are unavailable due to technical work. Please refrain from game purchases until the launch of the servers.
Meet the new line of vehicles – Italian PAT-SAU!
Italian PAT-SAU are ready to break into the battlefields of World of Tanks! This new branch will include six explorable vehicles from level V to X. All of them have excellent frontal armor and good EOD, perfectly suited for close-range and medium-range combat. Most importantly, the Level VII-X vehicles are equipped with a rather unusual magazine loading system. These unpredictable combat vehicles are guaranteed to give you a new gaming experience.
Vehicle rebalance
We rebalanced the specifications of some vehicles of different nations, levels and types, including the two X level tanks: the Kranvagn and AMX M4 mle. 54. Also we adjusted specifications for Emil II, AMX 65 t, T29, M44, TVP VTU Koncept, CS-44 and other vehicles. We increased or decreased combat efficiency depending on how these vehicles performed compared to other vehicles of the same level.
New map “Outpost”.
A new map called “Zastava” will appear in Casual Battles! Take a look at this picturesque summer location that combines open green areas with urban ruins and defensive moats, as well as an impressive fortress acting as an outpost. This map was the winner of the first season of the Battle Reconnaissance mode and offers players a striking visual design and exciting gameplay. Enjoy the views of the new combat location and thoroughly explore it for sure victories!
Balanced map edits
We continue to work on improving the maps for Random Battles and have made edits to a total of 14 combat locations. The most extensive changes affected the following six maps: Berlin, Himmelsdorf, Pearl River, Murovanka, Redshire, and Doldrums. In addition, we made minor tweaks to 8 other maps.
Balancer changes
To improve your game experience, we decided to introduce new rules for picking light and wheeled tanks in battles. The balancer will take a stricter approach to the distribution of light tanks and will try to form squads in such a way that teams have the same number of light tanks in each battle. A limit of one wheeled tank per team is introduced. To implement this, we also introduce a restriction: no more than one light tank/wheeled level VII-X tank per platoon.
In addition, we have added important changes regarding the number of SAUs in battles. Now in most battles there will be from 0 to 2 SAUs per team. The balancer will strive to reduce the number of battles with three SAUs per team to an absolute minimum.
Improved visualization of downed track belts
We have also improved the visualization of downed track belts on every vehicle in the game. Vehicle tracks will now interact with objects as an independent physical model. To get an idea of the innovation, just remember how the undercarriage of American “Yoh” tanks looks like when they get hit by a caterpillar belt. This option will affect the performance of your devices, so it will only be enabled by default when the graphics quality is set to “High” or better.
Battle Pass season 9 is coming soon!
Battle Pass Season 9 is coming back soon to provide you with lots of useful base rewards and more valuable enhanced rewards! After completing certain stages of the progression, you will receive Combat Pass tokens. These can be exchanged for a variety of in-game items and rare vehicles in the “Goods for Tokens” section of the in-game Store. Seven rare Level IX vehicles, including the Cobra and the Lorraine 50 t, will be available for purchase.
Account switching and cluster splitting
In mid-September, each World of Tanks player will be given the choice of where they want to continue playing:
- in the RU-region, where Lesta Games is operating;
- in EU-region, where Wargaming is operating.
The choice can be made in myAlpari and WGC, accepting the new License Agreement and the relevant rules. Please note: account transfer can take from several hours to several days in some cases.
